Dr. Whitney Makenny, ND.

I always appreciate when I have the chance to have a meet and greet with a doctor, so let me tell you a little about who I am and why I am here to help.

I have struggled with various health conditions throughout my life, and have explored the conventional medicine realm with successes and failures along the way. I always believed that there was another answer other than just pharmaceuticals to treat illness, which was the catalyst to move from my pre-med studies into Registered Massage Therapy and eventually into Naturopathic Medicine.

I was fortunate that my mum was a big proponent of Naturopathic Medicine and that I was able to experience the healing power of nature for many of my conditions, but I realize that some folks do not have that same opportunity, or even know that Naturopathic Medicine can help.

My mission is to help people truly help themselves by identifying the root cause of their condition, and encouraging them to make the necessary changes needed to achieve their goals.  I don’t think everything can be solved with a pill or herb, both can certainly help, but I believe there is tremendous power in lifestyle and dietary changes. If supplements are needed I will make recommendations that are safe with medications you may be taking, as well as being effective for your concerns.

I take time to sit with your case, cross check drug interactions, and come up with a detailed treatment plan that is tailored to you. We have an informed discussion about the benefits, potential side effects, and costs for each supplement recommended, so you know exactly what to expect. I keep the amount of supplements to a minimum and only choose items that are most efficacious so that you don’t break the bank, but most importantly so you can achieve your health goals. You deserve to put your health first and if you are ready to make changes I am here to help.
